Surving Exams

It's that time again and I'm writing this post to remind myself of my plan to survive exams because without a doubt I could lose my head if it wasn't attached.

Create a schedule and stick to it!
It's so easy to make a study schedule but the hardest part is sticking to it. However, I have learnt that doing a little bit each day is much easier than doing a big lump at the last minute, and not remembering everything.

Try to be consistent with your method of studying
Making cue cards for the first six sections of material and only having notes for the rest is not great.

Prepare your snacks before you start studying
If you know you get hungry while studying – and you do – then please, please, please prepare them before starting. Bonus points if you can make them healthy, remember hummus is super easy to make and uses minimal ingredients.

Take breaks
Marathon study sessions are not good for anyone, play around and see what amount of study and what breaks work best for you. I know my optimal is 40 minutes of studying and a 10 minute break.

Go to sleep at a reasonable hour
Getting enough sleep is very important for both your body and your mind. I know you think that staying up a little later to cram that last little bit of information in is a good idea but quitting while you’re ahead and getting some sleep your brain has time to process what you’re revising.

These next couple weeks will be super stressful but if you remember to take care of yourself and remember the above tips you’ll be just fine!

What are your top tips for surviving exam periods?

Much love,
Chiblutis xx
