Caramel Coffee // Current Obsession

I have never liked the taste of coffee, it's far too bitter and has a super strong aftertaste. I'm much more of an energy drink kind of girl - and yes I know that they're terrible for me. Everyone else in my family loves coffee and I just couldn't understand why.

Recently I went through a full on exam period and I was struggling to pull late/all nighters on only one energy drink a day. I decided that I wanted to make myself like coffee. Mainly to allow me to have more caffeine a day but also because they are far more accessible than the specific energy drink I like. And so my journey began.

I tried every type of coffee I could find with so many different types of milk, my boyfriend thought I was being ridiculous. He told me that no one actually liked the taste of coffee and that they just drank it because they needed it. I didn't want to believe him.

Finally I discovered that I liked the taste of caramel lattes with almond milk and one sugar. I know I know, very weak coffee. I'm trying to slowly warm myself up to the flavour of coffee. Caramel lattes are not that easy and quick to make at home so I had to hunt around for some instant coffee versions that tasted just as good, and I found them in my local coles.

Nestle sell these sachets that create one coffee using only water (but I add a dash of almond milk to mine), they have a really wide variety of types and flavours of coffee but I was most interested in lattes. I'm currently really into caramel, hazelnut, butterscotch and salted caramel and they are all equally delicious.

How do you get your daily dose of caffeine?

Much love,

Chiblutis xx
