My Travel Make Up Essentials // City Break

Recently I traveled interstate with a few girlfriends for a quick City Break. While we were away we tried to squeeze in as many different activities as we could - from visiting art galleries and museums to shopping and of course lots of eating out.

The variety of activities made it super hard for me to choose what make up I was going to take - and I was super limited on space. It took me much longer that I'd like to admit to decide so I thought I'd share the final cut with you today!

I knew beforehand that I really wanted to take this beautiful make up bag from Mecca Cosmetica that looks very similar to an Anya Hindmarch one that I've had my eye on for a while. It was originally a limited edition release for the holiday season of 2014 but has now found it's way into their regular stock here. I am officially in love with it!

I somehow managed to only take six face brushes with me and they were all that I needed! Most of the brushes I took with me are real techniques brushes because I really like them, they're great quality for a decent price.

From left to right:
- Real Techniques setting brush which I use for blending my highlight to make it look super natural
- Real Techniques fan brush for applying my highlighter
- Real Techniques sculpting brush for creating a natural contour
- Real Techniques contour brush which I actually use for setting my under eye concealer
- Real Techniques powder brush for overall bronzing and setting my face
- Nude by Nature travel mineral brush (part of starter set) for applying and blending my mineral foundation

When my friends saw how many eyeshadow brushes with me they thought I was crazy - especially considering I only brought three eyeshadows with me. However they were proven wrong as I needed every one of these brushes, we were there for five days so I was trying to create as many different eye looks with as few products as possible. For that task I was going to need to have as many clean brushes as I could take.

From left to right:
- Real Techniques accent brush which I like to use for creating a crisp line around my eye with shadows
- Sephora concealer brush that I actually like to use for really packing shimmery shades into my lid
- Sephora eyeshadow brush for softening intense shimmers and buffing them in
- Urban Decay shadow brush (came with my naked 1 palette) another one that I use for packing on shimmery shades
- Real Techniques base shadow brush as you can see above I took two of these because I use them for applying my transition shade and for blending
- Sephora angled eyeshadow brush used applying a neutral colour for an everyday, no-shadow look

Now for the actual make up, this was by far the hardest to narrow down but I think I did a great job. The only thing I didn't use was my lipstick and that's because I bought another red lipstick the first day (Lana by Nars).

Products in order of how I apply them to my face
- Mecca Cosmetica Soft Focus Smoothing Primer
- Rimmel Wake Me Up Concelaer in Ivory
- Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Cover in Medium
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light
- Nars Bronzer in Laguna
- Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Light/Medium
- Nars Illuminator in Orgasm
- Witchery Eyebrow Pencil in Brown
- Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Isolde
- Mac Single Eyeshadow in Amber lights
- Benefit Rollerlash Mascara
- Benefit They're Real Mascara in black

While interstate I did buy an awful lot of make up so there may be a haul coming soon!

Love and light,
Vasi-Marie xx
